2022: The KUST Sampler Vol. 5 (Album Artwork Concept)

Here is another project I worked on in my graphic design class. From time to time a school community radio station called KUST Radio releases an album containing music composed and performed by St. Thomas students. And with every release comes new album artwork to help promote it and be applied towards other uses. That is where my graphic design class comes in. One of our assignments was exactly that, to design album artwork for a physical release of the album. I ended up coming up with one idea that could be fixed into multiple packaging formats (jewel case, sleeve case, expandable wallet, special envelopes, etc.). The design itself was simple, it was basically just an elevated nighttime panoramic view of both Minneapolis and St. Paul with a lovely starry sky composited above it. I was always in love with how the Twin Cities looked at night and thought that its celestial yet serene appearance could make for a very neat album cover. As well as give the album a more hometown/local feel. The artwork as a whole was made and formatted with the help of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
